I began to think on some present phenomena as I commuted from home to work one morning. One that really caught my attention was the recent peaceful upheaval about which month produces legends. There has been ceaseless arguments concerning this. I must admit I have been involved in this argument before. And for those who know me, I surely would use scriptures to argue it out. It’s neither landed in any real fight nor chagrin to the best of my knowledge. We thank God for that. I believe it is just an opportunity for people to have fun in trying to exalt their months of birth over that of others.
While others try to be abstemious, others take it ‘world cup’ as it is commonly termed. They go right up to the acme any argument could get one into until they are debilitated. You would hear statements, pictures and prints such as, MAY BORNS ROCK, LEGENDS ARE BORN IN JANUARY, YOU CAN BECOME A MEMBER OF SEPTEMBER…and so on. It’s very interesting I would say.
I will be out of scope to produce facts of legends born every single day of any year, for the argument has been which month overrides the other. To delve into that will be very tasking but it’s rather a fact that legends are born every day. No single day is higher than the other because the grace of God does not run dry a particular day and shoots up in supply the following day. Psalm 23:6 declares, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Also, Psalm 68:19 says, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”
Who are legends by the way? I would define a legend as anyone who stands out to represent a positive change in his or her life time. Anyone who sacrifices the personal aggrandizement for societal, national or cosmopolitan advancement. I will provide a few names for every single month of the year since that has been the argument. There are billions of names I could mention but time and space will not permit any of us to take up that project. Even a single person from each month is enough evidence that it is not the month that makes a difference but people who responded to the potential in every human being to be a legend.
You can do a search about their lives and see for yourself how they became and still are legends. Time will not permit me to tell of their lives.
January: John Piper, Rick Warren, Martin Luther King Jnr.. February: Christiano Ronaldo, Abraham Lincoln, John C. Maxwell. March: Pastor Adeboye, Ravi Zacharias, Smith Wigglesworth, John G. Lake, Albert Einstein. April: Myles Munroe, Guglielmo Marconi, Paula White, Jackie Chan. May: Kathryn Kuhlman, Archbishop Nicolas Duncan-Williams, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Mark Zuckerberg. June: Rafael Nadal, Joyce Meyer, Lionel Messi, Georgina Theodora Wood. July: Maria Woodworth-Etter, Henry Ford. August: Rev. Dr. Bernard Mensa Adams, Charles Finney, Derrick Prince. September: Bishop David Oyedepo., Kenneth Erwin Hagin, Danny Nettey, Ben Carson. October: Bill Gates, Theodore Roosevelt. November: Ellen G. White, Donnie McClurkin. December: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Benny Hinn, Denzel Washington.
These are just to prove that at least, every month has a legend born in it. And if we go deeper, we will find legends for each day. My point is everyone is born with the potential to be a legend but only few decide to walk the path of greatness because there is a price to pay. Some decide to express theirs on a higher scale, others choose a county scale. It is left for you to decide. Do not let anyone or anything make you give up in life. The fact that you were born in the first place means the world needs you no matter the circumstances that surrounded your birth. Legends are born every day and they have every day to decide to keep walking the path to the expression of the fullness of their potentials.
